I just wanted to send a note of appreciation. I've just been cast as Bartolo; having Practice Perfect really helped me prepare for the audition and I've already been using it to prepare for the role as well. I'm gunning for Mephistopheles in the spring.

At one point earlier this year when I was in rehearsals for Rigoletto the conductor complimented me on being the best-prepared singer in the cast, and I thought, "Thank you, Practice Perfect."

It actually gets addicting using the tracks. I use them to study with the score and then keep drilling it with the CDs while I'm driving. When Rigoletto was over I missed doing that. Now I'm feeling, if I didn't have an audition or performance to prepare for, I'd have to be preparing a new role, just for the hell of it. Which is not a bad thing!

I spent four weeks in the Czech Republic rehearsing for and performing Gilda in RIGOLETTO. I didn't know I had the gig until 10 days before I had to be on a plane . . . and I had to learn the whole role! Your role preparation CD was invaluable. At first I listened to it while I read through the score, just getting familiar with each scene I was in. Then, as I began to memorize lyrics and music, I listened to it over and over as a way of testing what I remembered and what I forgot. Finally, it really comes in handy when you need to learn your cues, because they are orchestral cues rather than vocal cues which forces you not to rely on the preparation of the other singers, I could relax because I knew the orchestral parts. Wow! What a difference! No more worrying about someone else screwing up their line and therefore my cue. In the duet with the Duke, he kept missing one particular line and two of my cues, but I was able to go right on every time, not missing a beat, because I was relying on the orchestra and not him. It is such a relief to be able to learn my cues this way. It gives me so much more confidence during a performance. I just want you to keep recording more operas. I'm going to hate having to learn something without one of your handy CDs; it's so much harder. My kudos to your whole team for developing and selling these. You play the hell out of the piano parts. Well done all!
